Technical Standards
ASTM C97
Water Absorption & Bulk Specific Gravity
Tests the porosity of stone by measuring how much water it absorbs under pressure. Granite typically measures < 0.5%, confirming suitability for wet areas, exteriors, and food-contact surfaces.
ASTM C880
Flexural Strength
Measures the stone's resistance to bending forces. Critical for facade panels, countertop overhangs, and large-format flooring. Quarrica-sourced granite typically exceeds 10 MPa.
DIN 51130
Slip Resistance (R-value)
German standard that classifies slip resistance from R9 (low) to R13 (high). Flamed and bush-hammered finishes achieve R10–R11, suitable for commercial wet areas.
EN 1341
Slabs of Natural Stone for External Paving
European standard governing dimensional tolerances, surface quality, and testing requirements for natural stone used in external paving and plaza applications.
ANSI A326.3
Dynamic Coefficient of Friction (DCOF)
US standard for slip resistance. Requires DCOF ≥ 0.42 for wet walking surfaces. All stone finishes recommended for floor use are tested and confirmed to meet this threshold.

All shipments from Quarrica carry a valid IEC issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Government of India.
FIEO Membership
Application in progress
Federation of Indian Export Organisations. Membership application submitted — FIEO recognition provides additional credibility for government-tendered export projects.
CE Marking
In progress for select stones
Required for natural stone products entering the EU construction market under EN 12059. We are working with certified factory partners to issue Declarations of Performance (DoP) for granite slab products.
Quality Process
01
Quarry selection
We source only from quarries with documented block grading. Each quarry is evaluated for colour consistency, structural integrity, and absence of micro-fissures before any material is committed to an order.

Factory grading
Processed slabs and tiles are inspected against EN 12058 and EN 1341 dimensional tolerances. Grade A material (no pitting, consistent finish, within ±1 mm dimensional tolerance) only.
03
Pre-shipment inspection
A final inspection is conducted before container loading — checking bundle counts, surface quality, edge protection, crating, and moisture protection for sea freight.
